So the year is almost over and we have been in DC for four months now. We have had some challenges, many great times, lots of good restaurants (Afhgan food, and of course the ESPN ZONE, and new experiences. We have been hermits at times, relying on help from those in the ward to spare a basement or room at times, but things are good.
I started a new job as an administrative assistant for the Idaho National Laboratory, which deals with nuclear energy research and production, and Melyssa just finished her internship, which was amazing and she loved it. We are about to start a new year, which will bring new experiences and events. We are very grateful for our family and friends who have been a great support. For Christmas we enjoyed a nice relaxing day, not really doing much. It was our first Christmas being just the two of us, and as much as we would have loved to be with family, we enjoyed being together. We did go over to some friends for dinner, which was lot of fun. This week I have been off work, and so it's been a good break, and hopefully we can move into our new place here soon.

DC!
So our time in Rexburg came to an end...minus our stuff in a storage unit. We began our trip out east, leaving on Aug 11 (Tuesday) and ending up in DC on that following Sunday. The trip was long, but we broke it up, the first day we drove to North Platte, Nebraska, and 13 hours. The Next day we drove to Nauvoo. Nauvoo was great, we were able to go the Temple and have a great time.
From Nauvoo we drove to Avon, Oh and stayed with out great friends Tyler and Haylie. It was wonderful, they are so cool and we had lots of fun. We spent three days with them, so that was nice to have a break from driving. We saw Amish people and drove around Amish town, so cool. After spending some fun times with them, we hit the road for the final leg of the drive down to DC.
We made it, all 32 hours of it...without AC in the car...I don't recommend that. But it's nice to be here in DC, even though it is so muggy and hot right now. We started our internships, Melyssa has been there a week and a half, and I have been here 3 days. It's a new experience and taking some adjusting, but it should be fun.

We have been married 6 months! Crazy!
Eric and I had our 6 month anniversary on this week! February 23 marked the day! It is so crazy to think that we have been married 6 months already. Time flies. It has been a great adventure to be married. We have learned so much about each other and grown to love each other even more, it's like we have known each other our whole lives. I wanted to share this poem Eric wrote for me over the summer while we were away from each other. He will probably hate me for posting it, but the poem is so cute! A little cheesy, but from the heart none the less. I love his cheesy romanticism- it makes me smile!

Update!
The most exciting thing we have done so far as a married couple is when we got to spend Christmas in Florida with Eric's dad's side of the family. Eric, his brother Tim, and I surprised his dad for Christmas. The boys haven't seen their dad in a couple of years, so it was a sweet reunion, along with the new addition of me. I was lucky to get to meet Eric's dad for the first time since he wasn't able to come to the wedding. We had a blast! The weather was beautiful- average day was in the 80's! The Wolf extended family is so fun! We spent lots of time with Uncle Ed and Aunt Irish and they are the funnest older couple ever! Besides Eric's dad, there are three brothers in the Wolf fam and they all live close to each other and spend lots of time together. It was fun to meet all the uncles and get the stamp of approval! Eric's stepmom Patty was so good to us and took great care of us. She is such a sweet lady.
While we were in Florida, we ate at Wolfy's regularly for free (the family restaurant), we went golfing four times, went to Disney World (which was SO fun, but extremely crowded for the holidays), go to New Smyrna and Daytona Beach, have a fish fry with the family, and just spend time with everyone. We loved the relaxation and the time with Eric's family. They were really good to us. I also got to try southern food like grits, black-eyed peas, ocra, collard greens, and gator! It was interesting, but overall really good! We loved our time in Florida with the family, and wish we could go back to the beautiful weather!
